JUST MERCY is a moving and thought-provoking drama. He follows the fate of young lawyer Bryan Stevenson (Jordan) and his fight for justice, which will go down in history. As a Harvard graduate, Bryan could pick up lucrative job offers. Instead, he goes to Alabama to represent the wrongly convicted or those who cannot afford a reliable defense lawyer. The local lawyer Eva Ansley (Larson) helps him with this. One of Stevenson's first and most media affairs is the defense of Walter McMillian (Foxx). In 1987 he was sentenced to death for the loud murder of an eighteen-year-old. Many proofs of innocence did not help, or that the only testimony against him was highly questionable. Bryan gets caught up in a network of legal and political games. He comes in contact with explicit, undisguised racism. Undaunted, he defends Walter and other convicts in spite of everything and everything.
