Based on a true story, "Song Sung Blue" follows Mike (Hugh Jackman) and Claire (Kate Hudson), who form the Neil Diamond cover band Lightning and Thunder. Mike, a recovering alcoholic and Vietnam veteran, works part-time as a mechanic to support what he loves most: playing music, no matter how large the audience or how empty the venue. When he meets Claire, he sees the same passion in her. This passion sparks a love story both on and off stage.
