East Germany, 1979. A growing number of its inhabitants dream of escaping the prison state. It seems practically impossible: Berlin is divided by a wall, and the borders are among the most heavily guarded. As a result, the few brave souls who attempt to cross it, most die. However, this doesn't stop more daredevils. Two of them come up with a crazy plan to escape across the border... by balloon. The film is based on the true story of one of the most extraordinary escapes from the Earth War.
