Bikeriders is set during a rebellious time in America, when culture and people were changing. After a chance meeting at a local bar, Kathy (Jodie Comer) befriends Benny (Austin Butler), a new member of the Midwestern motorcycle club, the Vandals, led by the enigmatic Johnny (Tom Hardy). Like the country around it, the club begins to evolve, transforming from a hangout for local outsiders into a dangerous underworld of violence, forcing Benny to choose between Kathy and his loyalty to the club. Bikers chronicles 10 pivotal years in the lives of Johnny, the thrill-seeking Benny, and their fellow bikers: Zipco, Funny Sonny, Cal, Brucie Wahoo, Cockroach, Corky, and The Kid. It shows how to survive in a brutal world that glorifies guns, alcohol, drugs, and independence. Over the course of a decade, as the country around them changes, the club evolves from a meeting place for individualistic anti-heroes into a sinister gang. The interlopers take over and engage the Vandals in drug dealing, gambling, contract killings and all-out war with rival gangs, leading the group towards ruin. Authentic, personal and uncompromising, this film offers a raw look at a rebellious culture.
