It's Christmas in a small Swedish town. Lots of snow, beautiful lights and beautifully decorated trees create a magical atmosphere. Teenage Karl helps his father who owns a large department store. It is there that he meets Vera, a poor girl his age, who lives with her younger sister in an orphanage. He realizes that some people are much less fortunate than his family. Inspired by Robin Hood, he decides to steal something from the richer and pass it on to the poor. He reports to work at the post office, where he puts away Christmas parcels. On Christmas Eve, he dresses up as Santa Claus and goes out to distribute Christmas gifts to the poor.
