"Cicha Dziewczyna" is a story about 9-year-old Cáit, who lives in a large, poor family. After her mother becomes pregnant again, the girl ends up with her relatives in the countryside. Hitherto closed, slightly subdued, Cáit begins to open up to the world and explore the secrets of her new home. The film, awarded at the Berlinale, creates an unusual atmosphere, perfectly uses understatement and mesmerizes with the camera work. It is a warm, poignant story about unobvious bonds that develop between a child and adults, as well as about the innocence of childhood.
