Teen Estella has a dream. She wants to become a fashion designer, gifted with talent, ingenuity and ambition. However, life seems to be about making sure her dreams never come true. At twelve, Estella is penniless and orphaned in London, four years later she rages the streets with her best friends and partners in (petty) crime, Horace and Jasper, two amateur thieves. But when a chance encounter leads Estella to the world of the rich and famous, she questions the existence she has built for herself in London and wonders if she can really do better. When a rising rock star orders Estella to design her own work for him, she begins to feel as if she's really made it to the top.
