Copenhagen, just after World War I. Karoline (Victoria Carmen Sonne), a young factory worker, becomes pregnant and ends up on the streets overnight. When she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm, awarded in Gdynia), the charismatic owner of an illegal adoption agency who offers her shelter and work as a wet nurse, she finds herself in the middle of mysterious events. Will the relationship between the women, initially based on trust, survive the confrontation with dark secrets? How much can you forgive someone who has extended a helping hand to you at the most difficult moment? Karoline – and with her the viewers – will be forced to find the answer to the question about the boundaries of good and evil.
