"Jojo Rabbit" is a satirical picture of World War II based on the novel by Christine Leunens, in which the scriptwriter and director Taika Waititi ("Thor: Ragnarok", "Wild Hunt") combines humor and pathos in a characteristic style. When a German boy (Roman Griffin Davis as Jojo) finds a young Jewish woman (Thomasin McKenzie), whom he hides in the attic of his mother raising him alone (Scarlett Johansson), his world stands on his head. With only an idiotic imaginary friend at his side, who is none other than Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi) himself, Jojo now has to face his blind nationalism.
