Beginning with a police investigation, the film explores what could have driven the actor to such a tragic act. We travel the world, visiting places that were important to Max during his lifetime. We meet his family, film producers and colleagues, as well as doctors and detectives who unravel the mysteries of Linder's life and death. In his will, he left his film legacy to his older brother, Maurice. Jealous of his brother's fame and fortune, Maurice dug a giant hole in his backyard and buried all of his brother's films. And with them, he buried Linder's legacy forever. Or so he thought.
