Florence (Léa Seydoux) is determined to introduce the man of her dreams, David (Louis Garrel), to her father Guillaume (Vincent Lindon). However, David does not share Florence's feelings and devises a plan to dissuade her from his feelings by pushing her towards Willy (Raphaël Quenard), their mutual friend. The fates of these four people intertwine in an isolated restaurant in the middle of nowhere.
