Lucius Glantz (the wonderful Willem Dafoe) has been a concierge at the InterContinental hotel in Vienna for several decades - the first such a luxurious place to appear on the map of Europe. From morning to night, he supervises every aspect of the institution's operation, paying attention to the smallest details. One day, Lucius learns that the hotel will be sold to a new owner who plans to radically renovate it. Lucius undertakes an unequal fight to save the hotel - and his place of work, which has been his real home for years.
