First quarter at the cinema

According to BoxOffice and New Age Media estimates, from January 7th to March 31st over 9 million tickets were sold in Polish cinemas. More than 60 films had their premieres.

The most popular film of the first quarter was the animation "SING 2", by the way setting the opening record and the best result for an animated film since March 2020.

The second place on the TOP 10 list belongs to the high-budget production "Batman". "Batman".

Within 4 weeks from the premiere, i.e. from March 4, the film gathered more than 800,000 viewers in front of cinema screens.

At the end of the podium was the domestic production "End of the World or Kogel-Mogel 4". The opening results, as well as the overall attendance, show that the Polish audience followed the fates of the old and new characters of the cult comedy with great interest.

Action movies and super hero stories were also popular in the first quarter of 2022. Just behind the podium, with an equally good result, was the film adaptation of action games with treasure hunter Nathan Drake - "Uncharted". Tom Holland, who plays the main role in this movie, can also boast good results for his second production in our TOP 10 list, "Spider Man: Far From Home". This film, despite its release in mid-December last year, was still viewed in large numbers in the first quarter of 2022.

The list of the most watched films also included local productions consecutively:

"8 Things You Don't Know About Guys" - a sequel to the 2016 hit; Patryk Vega's first 2022 film "Love, Sex and Pandemic" - made during the coronavirus pandemic, or "Gierek" starring Teddy Koterski.

The film for the youngest viewers could not be missing from the turnout summary. Apart from the already mentioned animation "SING 2", which has the biggest share in the ranking, "Mikołajek's Treasure" and a recently premiered animation "To nie wypanda" can also boast high attendance results.
