Every autumn, film distributors prepare cinematic surprises for viewers in Poland – revivals. This year, we will once again see films that span almost three decades: Toy Story (1995) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022). These two productions not only delighted audiences, but also changed the history of cinema forever. In addition, they are a nice warm-up before the next installments in the series, which will soon hit the big screen.
Toy Story (1995) – the first “living” toys and the revolution in computer animation
Toy Story was the first feature-length film created entirely using computer animation – a hit produced by Pixar Animation Studios and Disney. Every movement, even the slightest facial expression, required separate software, and rendering took place non-stop, day and night. The first part, released in 1995, marked the beginning of one of the most important and beloved animation series in the history of cinema. All four installments have grossed a combined total of over $3 billion at the global box office, and their characters have become cultural icons.
The next installment in the series, Toy Story 5, will hit Polish theaters on June 19, 2026.
Toy Story returns to Polish theaters on September 19, 2025.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) – depths, WOW effect, and technological spectacle
James Cameron, creator of Avatar, describes the series as his magnum opus. The first part of the adventures of the inhabitants of Pandora premiered in 2009. The production won the hearts of viewers, setting records for popularity and profits. Thirteen years later, in 2022, Cameron returned with the second part, while working on subsequent installments. The main plot remains unchanged – the fate of the inhabitants of Pandora is intertwined with that of humans. New clashes take us to different regions of the Na'vi world. The upcoming films guarantee spectacular special effects, innovative technological solutions, and an extraordinary, epic storyline. The scenes we will see again in September were shot simultaneously with scenes from the third installment, Avatar: Fire and Ash. In this way, the creators wanted to prevent the so-called “Stranger Things” effect, resulting from a long break between the shooting of individual scenes.
The new installment, this time volcanic, Avatar: The Way of Water, will hit the big screen on December 19, 2025.
Avatar: The Way of Water returns to Polish cinemas on October 3, 2025.
Do zobaczenia w kinie!
