Four million viewers is comparable to last year's result, when Minions ruled the big screen. It is also the same level as the result for April this year, when Polish viewers flocked to cinemas to see Minecraft: The Movie.
This year's attendance figures, as well as results from previous years, show that the summer holidays are also a busy time for the cinema industry. This year, 21 films premiered in July, including foreign blockbusters and Polish titles. The former are currently in the top three most-watched films in Poland.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, in theaters since July 4, ranks No. 1 in terms of tickets sold last month. Second place belongs to the animated film The Smurfs: The Lost Village (premiered July 18). Just behind the blue creatures is the long-awaited hit F1 (in theaters since June 26). Just behind the podium are: Superman, returning in grand style (premiered on July 11), and a new adaptation of the adventures of Vikings and dragons entitled How to Train Your Dragon (in theaters since June 13).
Our domestic production, Vinci 2, also deserves attention in the July attendance rankings. Cuma and Szerszeń did not disappoint their fans. There are also new characters who flawlessly capture the atmosphere of the first part from 2004. Juliusz Machulski's film premiered on the last Friday of July and was seen by over 260,000 viewers in its first week alone. This is a very good result, showing that the sequel to the cult film from 20 years ago has struck a chord with audiences.

September at the cinema
The first month after the summer holidays is a time for Polish productions to hit the cinemas. We start with the film Teściowe 3 (premiere on September 12). The first two parts achieved very good results, and the availability and good viewership of these titles on streaming platforms and even on theater stages bodes well for the attendance of this year's premiere. This time, it's not a wedding but a christening...😊
From September 12, Polish cinemas will show the next part of the adventures of the peculiar Socks. The Incredible Adventures of Socks 2: Socks Rule! is a film for the youngest viewers. Families (and not only!) will be able to see the well-known Toy Story animation once again. The first feature-length animation in history created entirely using computer technology by Pixar studio will return to the big screen in mid-September.
On the last Friday of September, we will go to the cinema to see the Polish film Assassination of the Pope. It is a thriller inspired by real events, depicting a mysterious operation by the secret services aimed at assassinating John Paul II. From September 26, we will also see a new film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, One Battle After Another. Former revolutionary Bob Ferguson lives a peaceful life until his former enemy kidnaps his daughter. Together with his old comrades, he sets off on a rescue mission.

See you at the movies!
