At the end of October this year, cinemas in Poland sold nearly 40 million tickets. This is a very good sign for the entire quarter. We estimate that by the end of 2025, the audience will reach approximately 50 million viewers, thus reaching the minimum level of 2024. November is a month of box office hits, and the season of Christmas preparations spent away from home (i.e. also at the cinema) is still ahead of us.
October and the TOP 10 at the cinema
October did not shake up the TOP 10 list. The Polish premiere from September strengthened its position. Teściowie 3 (The In-Laws 3) was the most frequently chosen film in October and is currently the third most popular film of the year. We were equally eager to go to the cinema to see the biographical Polish blockbuster Chopin, Chopin! and the family film Koci Domek Gabi (Gabi's Cat House). The result of the documentary FRIZ & WERSOW. Love in the Time of Online is also noteworthy. The good attendance of this format in cinemas shows that fans of influencers are eager to watch the stories of internet creators on the big screen.
Forecasts for the end of the year
We already have seven films with over a million admissions in this year's top 10. According to our estimates, several more films have a chance to achieve high results.
Zootopia 2, the sequel to Disney's hit production, will hit the big screen on 26 November. The first instalment of Judy and Nick's adventures attracted nearly 1.3 million viewers to the big screen. The new adventures may attract even more interest, with an estimated attendance of around 2 million tickets sold.
Two Polish productions are worth noting in November: Dom Dobry by Wojtek Smarzowski (very good opening results) and Uwierz w Mikołaja 2, a Christmas romantic comedy that will be in cinemas until the end of the year.
High-budget productions will also hit the screens. Now You See Me 3, the good results of the previous parts allow for optimistic estimates for the next instalment. Wicked: For Good - a year ago, we learned the story of the Wizard of Oz anew, and from 21 November, we will see what's new with Elphaba and Glinda.
