Attendance at cinemas on the rise! First half of the year with very good results.
In the first half of 2024, Polish cinemas attracted as many as 24.5 million viewers in front of their screens. This is an excellent result, which represents a 10% increase compared to the same period last year. Among the most watched films were both Polish productions and foreign hits.
Since the end of the first quarter, Mr Kleks Academy and Dune.Part Two have reigned supreme. These films momentarily hit the big screens in January and March respectively, and have been unbeatable ever since. Currently in third place is the second part of the animated film In Your Head. This great film for children, adolescents, but also adults who want to see what goes on in a teenager's head, has already been seen by more than one million viewers.
It is worth noting that more than half of the productions in the TOP 10 list have reached an attendance figure of 1 million viewers. In recent weeks, they have been joined by the friendly tomcat Garfield, which already attracted nearly 500 000 viewers in cinemas during its opening weekend.
Our domestic productions also continue to be popular! Four of them are among the most watched films in Poland. The second half of the year also promises to be extremely interesting in terms of Polish premieres. The following films will be released in cinemas: Putin, Kulej and Letters to M.6.
