AUGUST AT THE MOVIES - SUMMARY OF THE MONTH
Polish cinemas gathered nearly 2.6 million viewers in front of their screens in August. The repertoire included 28 films, including as many as 8 Polish productions.
The best results were generated during the last weekend of the month (BoxOffice 27.08-02.09) when Polish cinemas were visited by nearly 350 000 viewers. There were premieres of 8 films, including domestic productions such as "Master", "Soup Nothing", "Country" and "Black Mill".
The biggest attendance hit of the month turned out to be "Suicide Squad 2" from Warner. The film also received the best opening weekend score.
Action and adventure films were quite popular. In second place, just behind "Suicide Squad 2," was the comedy "Free Guy," and third place on the podium went to the adventure film for younger audiences, "Lassie, Come Back!"
SEPTEMBER ON THE BIG SCREEN
The weekend premiere of "Soup Nothing" is the best opening of a Polish film so far this year in terms of attendance! But there are still a lot of important, famous and hit titles ahead of us. Only in September we will see such films as "The In-laws", a perverse comedy about a wedding without the bride and groom, "Small World" by Patryk Vega, which touches upon the serious problem of human trafficking, "Najmro", an action film about a celebrity from the underworld of communist Poland, and the Polish Oscar candidate "Żeby nie było śladów" - telling the story of Grzegorz Przemyk.
