record

The latest BoxOffice data show another record result for Polish cinema.
In the first quarter of this year there was a 9% increase in attendance in Polish cinemas in comparison to the same period in 2018. That's more than 1.5 million more tickets sold. In the period from January to March inclusive, movies on the big screen were watched by over 18.8 million viewers, which makes the first quarter of this year the best in 6 years! The cinema attendance in February reached the historical result of 7 651 540 tickets sold, which is the highest since 2002.
An excellent result is certainly due to several native productions, such as "Planeta Singli 3" or "Women of Mafia 2". Foreign positions and Oscar premieres ("GreenBook", "Favorite") also had a huge impact on the increase in attendance. The latter have largely contributed to the establishment of the February record.
In the top 10 in Poland, the first place was the comedy "Miszmasz or Kogel-Mogel 3" (2.4 million viewers), which received the title of the best opening. It is also a successful quarter for animated productions. "How to Train Your Dragon 3" was watched by as many as 1.2 million viewers. "Ralph Demolka on the Internet" gained 900,000 thou. viewers.
