The Polish cinema market is on an upward trend, driven mainly by box-office revenues and growing audiences.
According to PwC's report “Prospects for the development of the entertainment and media industry in Poland 2024-2028,” Poland's cinema sector is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, with box office revenues expected to surpass 2019 levels as early as 2025 and gradually increase to PLN 1.3 billion in 2028.
Cinema audiences in Poland are expected to grow from 48.7 million in 2023 to 58.7 million in 2028, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.8%; in 2025, cinemas will be visited by 55.0 million viewers.
Cinema advertising revenues are also expected to grow at a 5.1% CAGR, reaching PLN 152 million in 2028 from PLN 118 million in 2023; in 2025, cinema advertising revenues are projected at PLN 137 million.
