Summer 2026: the cinema advertising season you won’t want to miss

Summer 2026

In the first quarter of this year, Polish multiplexes welcomed over 12 million cinema-goers. Does this mean the summer season will be even better? Everything points to that. Summer cinema is not just about prestige and reach – it’s about direct access to the target audience. Families are looking for ways to spend their time, young people are planning outings with friends, and adults are seeking good entertainment and content that keeps them entertained.

What’s coming to the big screen?

June and July are the months when family audiences perform particularly well at Cinema City cinemas. The figures show that during this period, family films attract as much as 42% of cinema-goers – an opportunity that’s hard to miss. Among the top titles, we’ll find both sequels that have won over audiences and new productions that stand a chance of drawing whole families to the cinemas.

The line-up at this time of year is led by hits such as Toy Story 5, Supergirl, Minions and the Ghosts, Moana and many other productions that guarantee high attendance. This means millions of potential viewers for advertising campaigns.

Tried-and-tested franchises are a guaranteed success

The track record speaks for itself. The Toy Story franchise has consistently achieved spectacular results: Toy Story 1 and 2 (from 1996 and 2000) each sold 530,000 tickets, whilst the third instalment from 2010 attracted 580,000 viewers. The fourth instalment, meanwhile, broke previous records, selling as many as 1 million tickets in Poland alone.

The Minions series has achieved similarly impressive results: from the first film in 2010 (300,000 tickets), through the second (550,000), right up to the third in 2017 (2 million tickets!). The fourth instalment from 2024 maintained this momentum, selling as many as 2.4 million tickets.

These figures are no coincidence – they prove that audiences are returning to tried-and-tested film franchises and are keen to take the whole family to the cinema. This means that Toy Story 5 and Minions 3 will be magnets attracting millions of potential viewers for your adverts this season.

But the summer season isn’t just about films for the little ones

Christopher Nolan’s new ‘Odyssey’ is a film shot specifically with IMAX® cameras, guaranteeing a spectacular cinema experience on the big screen. A production that must be seen in the cinema, not at home. In this way, Nolan confirms that cinema is alive, evolving and seeking new ways to delight audiences. It is a film that will attract fans of arthouse cinema, film connoisseurs and lovers of top-class entertainment.

The Spider-Man series, on the other hand, consistently demonstrates that audiences aren’t just looking for light-hearted entertainment – they’re seeking thrills, adrenaline and spectacular scenes that make a trip to the cinema worthwhile. This means expanding the audience to include adult viewers, who represent a valuable demographic for many brands.

These two films perfectly demonstrate that the summer line-up has the power to appeal to every section of the audience – from children to adults, from blockbuster fans to film buffs seeking an artistic experience.

See you at the cinema!
